Kaleidoscopic Period

"Teenagers are the most misunderstood people on earth; treated like children but expected to act like adults."

Teenage is the most crucial period of one’s life. But in my opinion, teenage is also the most colorful period of one’s life. It is actually a transition from a silkworm in a cocoon to a beautiful butterfly. During the teenage years, one comes across many dilemmas: fitting in the coolest social groups, nasty nicknames, first crushes, insecurities, self-consciousness, peer pressure and so on. At this time, we feel these are the biggest problems in life. But in fact, this is just an ongoing training which helps immensely in making us strong enough to face the world outside these four walls.

Teenage is also the time of temptations. Invisible keep on pulling us from numerous directions: smoking, alcohol, gadgets, social networks, infatuations etc. We have to decide for ourselves about who we must be and for achieving this goal, what we must do. Distractions are normal at this age. But to shoo these distractions away, we must have self-control. If one has self-control, he can survive in this world without giving in to temptations.

As I had mentioned above, teenage is the most colorful period in our lives. It is the time when we get to know more and make new friends. Each one of us have different colors in ourselves. The best way to show off the beauty of these colors is to mix them in a color-palette and paint it as one, i.e to display strength in unity.

Stephanie Meyer, the author of Twilight, says: “Teenage is a fascinating place; old enough to feel truly adult, old enough to make decisions that affect the rest of your life, old enough to fall in love, yet, at the same time too young to be free to make a lot of those decisions without someone’s approval”.

We, the new generation, are expected to change the world with the latest technology and developments. But what I say is, SHOW THE WORLD WHO YOU ARE, NOT WHAT YOU CAN DO!
